Our lab is in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at Columbia University as well as the Department of Systems Biology, and the Department of Medicine. We are also members of the Data Science Institute and the Institute for Genomic Medicine at Columbia.
Cancer Data Scientist
We have an immediate opening for a Cancer Data Scientist position in my group. As a leader of a new Cancer Center initiative to leverage data science to improve the success of clinical trials with a focus on improving representation of historically underrepresented populations. This position will be a central role in this new initiative with opportunities for both research and real-world implementation of methods. See our post in Nature Careers:
Prospective PhD Students
Potential graduate students should apply to the Department of Biomedical Informatics Training Program or the Systems Biology Training Program at Columbia.
Summer Research Program
High school and undergraduate students interested in bioinformatics, biomedical data science, and computational biology may apply for our summer program. Those from underrepresented backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Statement
Diversity drives innovation and diversity of thought thrives in an environment which promotes equity, encourages inclusion, and promotes a sense of safety and belonging. The Tatonetti Lab strongly supports student and lab member involvement in health disparities research and anti-racism initiatives. We seek to understand the role of systemic biases, including racism, and its effect on health care, science, and society. We are committed to critical evaluation of our research methods and results in this context.
